A tiny menu bar app that listens while you work. When it hears a sneeze, it says bless you. That is all it does.
- Download Get the disk image from this page over HTTPS.
- Install Open it and drag ach000 into Applications.
- Allow the mic Open the app, then allow microphone access when asked.
- Sneeze Look for the a in your menu bar. It keeps listening.
How it tells a sneeze from everything else
ach000 classifies sound on your Mac. It uses Google’s YAMNet model when available - labels that include sneeze and cough - and falls back to an on-device acoustic detector if the model cannot load. Nothing is recorded. Nothing is uploaded. The app has no network access.
It is not perfect. A very theatrical fake sneeze may work. A quiet smothered one might not. Drag the sensitivity slider in the menu bar if it is too eager or too shy.
